Shipping & Delivery Policy

How Mintwell packs, ships, and documents cargo under Incoterms 2020 — from Delhi ex-works through Indian ports of loading to your destination warehouse.

Last updated: 12 April 2026

1. Incoterms 2020

Every PI specifies an Incoterm that defines where risk, cost, and responsibility transfer from Mintwell to the Buyer. The default for sea cargo is FOB Nhava Sheva unless otherwise agreed.

EXW Ex Works

Buyer arranges loading, export customs, freight, insurance, and destination clearance.

FOB Free on Board

Delivery point: Nhava Sheva (INNSA) or agreed Indian port

Mintwell clears goods for export and delivers on board the vessel. Buyer pays ocean freight, insurance, and destination costs.

CIF Cost, Insurance & Freight

Delivery point: Named port of destination

Mintwell pays freight and minimum marine insurance to the destination port. Risk passes at load port.

DAP Delivered at Place

Delivery point: Named destination (buyer's warehouse or terminal)

Mintwell delivers ready for unloading at the named place. Buyer handles import clearance and duties.

DDP Delivered Duty Paid

Delivery point: Named destination, duties cleared

Mintwell handles everything including import duties and taxes. Quoted case-by-case.

2. Export Packing Standards

All shipments are packed to withstand international sea and air freight handling:

  • Individual parts in OEM/OES packaging with part-number labelling.
  • Master cartons of 5-ply corrugated board with corner protection.
  • ISPM-15 treated wooden pallets and crates for palletised or heavy cargo, with stamped certification for destination customs.
  • Shrink-wrap and strapping on all pallets; desiccant and VCI film for moisture-sensitive items on request.
  • Shipping marks, port of discharge, gross/net weight, and carton numbering as per PO.

3. Pre-Shipment Inspection

Mintwell performs internal quality control on every shipment under ISO 9001:2015. Buyers may additionally appoint:

  • Independent inspection agencies (SGS, Bureau Veritas, TÜV, Intertek) at Buyer's cost.
  • Their own QC representative at Mintwell's Delhi warehouse by prior appointment.

Pre-shipment inspection acceptance (PSI clearance) is binding on the Buyer for quality and quantity. Post-shipment claims are limited to DOA defects, short-shipment, or carrier-caused damage.

4. Indicative Lead Times

Transit times from Indian port of loading to destination port. Add 3–7 working days for stuffing, export clearance, and sailing schedule from order readiness.

Region Air Sea (FCL/LCL)
South Asia (Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives) 3–5 days 7–14 days
Middle East & GCC 4–6 days 12–18 days
Southeast Asia & Far East 5–7 days 14–21 days
Africa 6–9 days 21–35 days
Europe 5–8 days 21–28 days
Americas 7–10 days 28–40 days

Estimates only. Actual transit depends on carrier schedule, transhipment, port congestion, and seasonal factors.

5. Shipping Documentation

Mintwell issues a complete export document set within 3 working days of Bill of Lading issuance:

  • Commercial Invoice with HS codes, Incoterm, and country of origin.
  • Packing List with carton-wise gross/net weights and dimensions.
  • Bill of Lading (B/L) for sea or Air Waybill (AWB) for air — original or telex release per LC/PO instructions.
  • Certificate of Origin — issued by Indian Chamber of Commerce or equivalent; preferential CoO under SAFTA, APTA, ASEAN-India FTA, India-UAE CEPA issued on request where eligible.
  • Fumigation / ISPM-15 Certificate where wooden packaging is used.
  • Insurance certificate for CIF / CIP shipments.
  • Additional documents (BIS, inspection, health, conformity) as required by destination country and PO.

6. Destination Responsibilities

For FOB, CIF, and CFR shipments, destination customs clearance, import duties, GST/VAT, and last-mile delivery are handled by the Buyer or the Buyer's appointed CHA (Customs House Agent).

For DAP and DDP shipments, Mintwell coordinates with its nominated forwarder to deliver to the named place. DDP pricing is quoted case-by-case after evaluating destination duty structure.

Demurrage, detention, and port storage charges at destination are to the Buyer's account unless caused by Mintwell's document delay.
